Roger Federer looks to book his place in the Doha semi-finals against Italy's Andreas Seppi.
The three-time champion continued his serene progress through the Qatar Open draw with a comfortable 6-2, 6-3 second round win over qualifier Greg Zemlja on Wednesday. Federer has yet to be tested in this event and at the age of 30 he's happy to move through the rounds expending as little energy as possible.
"I'm happy to come through matches easily at the beginning of the season," he said. "It can be tricky when you enter the first tournament of the season, and right away you play an incredibly tough three setter, let's say. The body feels that, and that's why I'm happy to be through into the quarter-finals without too much trouble."
Conditions have been extremely breezy in Doha all week but they appear to have affected Federer's opponents much more than the Swiss himself who's been able to use all his experience of competing in the wind.
"It’s important not to get frustrated in the wind," he explained. "I used to be very emotional when I was younger. It was a tough part understanding how to win in the wind. But today, it doesn't bother me anymore. You get used to it."
It's hard to see Seppi troubling the defending champion. Federer has won all seven of their matches (4 of them on hard courts) without even dropping a set. They last played at the 2010 Shanghai Masters where Federer won 6-3, 6-4 en route to the final.
