World No. 1 Novak Djokovic takes on World No. 3 Rafael Nadal this afternoon in the final of the 2012 Rome Masters (15:00 BST start).
The Internazionali BNL d’Italia’s top 2 seeds have made it through to the final and square off for the title this afternoon in a rematch of their championship clash from last year - the first back-to-back final with the same players in the history of the tournament.
Djokovic has only dropped one set in four matches this week and is through to the 20th ATP Masters 1000 final of his career.
This afternoon's clash will be Nadal's 70th career final at ATP World Tour level, and if he is victorious, he will move back to No. 2.
The Spaniard, a five-time winner in Rome, has a 35-2 record in the event and has recorded four straight set wins this week.
Nadal leads the career head-to-head 17-14, and leads 10-2 on clay. This is their fourth meeting in Rome.
Their last meeting was in Monte Carlo last month, with Rafa winning 6-3 6-1 to snap a seven-match losing streak against the Serb.
Overall this is their 14th meeting in a final. Djokovic leads 7-6 in finals, but Nadal has a 3-2 record in clay finals.
Look for Nadal to better his record today, and he may well go the entire tournament without dropping a set.
