Novak Djokovic won last year’s Miami Masters with a breathtaking three set victory over Rafael Nadal, who at the time was the world No. 1. The Serb’s exploits in Miami allowed him to maintain his unbeaten streak in 2011, and put him well on course towards usurping Nadal as the man to beat on the ATP World Tour.

This year he’ll be back and ready to defend his title, and his form doesn’t seem to have dropped in the slightest. Djokovic managed to better Nadal once more in the final of this year’s Australian Open, running out the eventual winner in a clash that lasted for almost six hours.

Nadal, of course, will be keen to snap his ever-growing losing streak against Djokovic, and he’ll be in attendance in Miami this year with the aim of turning things around and staging a bid to reclaim his old spot at the top of the rankings. Nadal isn’t the only man who’ll be out to beat Djokovic. The Serb can also rely on stiff competition from Roger Federer and Andy Murray, amongst others.

Whilst the Miami Masters will be tough for Djokovic, he’s clearly a worthy favourite. Currently, he’s pushing the standard of professional tennis to an all-time high, and doing things that nobody thought possible. It’s going to take something very special, barring injury, to prevent Djokovic from success here.
