The Miami Masters will be streamed live this year from 19. - 26. March 2012.
The 2012 Miami Masters promises some hard hitting action from the tennis stars of the ATP World Tour and WTA circuit as they battle it out on the hard courts of Crandon Park in Key Biscayne, Miami, Florida from the 19th until 26th of March.
This ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event on the men's tour and Premier Mandatory event on the women's tour has had many sponsors in the past. It was initially known as the Lipton International Players Championships, but in 2000 the event name was changed to the Ericsson Open only to be renamed the Sony Ericsson Open in 2007.
Following on from the ATP Indian Wells Masters which draws to a close only one week earlier, the ATP Miami Masters is recognised as one of the most exciting tournaments on the ATP Tour schedule.
In 2011, the Miami Masters had a record number of attendees, seating 316,267 spectators over the two weeks of the competition, but this year promises to draw in an even bigger crowd and even more of the world's best tennis players.
The tournament has featured some international tennis stars like Ivan Lendl, Michael Chang, Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, Marcelo Rios, Richard Krajicek, Andy Roddick, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray who have all put their claim to the men's single title in the past.
The Venus sisters are among the most successful with Venus and Serena winning the events event eight times between them - Serena 5 times leaving her tied best with Steffi Graf.
There is no doubt that only few tennis tournaments generate as much excitement as the ATP Miami Masters. It has not quite managed to establish itself as a Slam, but there is doubt that it is one of the most significant events of the year.
