Janko Tipsarevic plays lowly ranked Belgian David Goffin in the Chennai Open quarters on Friday.
Tipsarevic made a superb start to the 2012 season on Thursday, showing little sign of rust as he blasted past wildcard Yuki Bhambri 6-1, 6-3. It was apparent almost immediately that the contest was a complete mismatch with Bhambri struggling to handle the top seed's heavy ammunition from the back of the court.
22 year old Goffin is a wildcard ranked just 174 in the world but he's into his first career ATP quarter-final after seeing off former finalist Xavier Malisse and the powerful Andreas Beck.
Goffin may be one of the shortest players on the tour at just 5'4 but his court coverage gave Beck numerous problems and he proved he had the weapons to trouble Beck, battling through to win 4-6, 6-4, 6-2.
"I am happy and feeling confident," Goffin said. "In the first set he was too good, I was aggressive in the second, and when I broke him in the third I knew I could finish on my serve."
Prediction: Tipsarevic to end Goffin's fairytale run in straight sets.
