Andy Murray will face the challenge of Gilles Muller in the second round of the Brisbane InternationalYou can watch and bet on Murray v Muller live for free at bet365 > live tennisthe first match of the Andy Murray and Ivan Lendl partnership almost went horribly wrong for the Scot as he lost the first set of his tournament opener in Brisbane against Mikhail Kukushkin. The British No. 1 eventually fought past the Kazakh to win 5-7, 6-3, 6-2, despite having issues with his knee and lower back.
Murray was a little surprised by the performance of his opponent. "He was hitting winners from all over the place," remarked the top seed. “I was a little bit slow but I wasn't expecting him to come out swinging like that.”
"He was hitting the ball great so I was glad I was able to turn it around. You're meant to be ready from the start and I wasn't quite there today, but I played better towards the end, I started to move a little bit better.”
Commenting on his injury troubles, Murray continued, "My body loosened up a little bit so hopefully I will pull up OK tomorrow." He’ll need to hope that he’s in top condition for his second round meeting with Gilles Muller. Although Muller is a player that Murray would usually be able to defy, he may struggle with the big server if he’s enduring back problems. This could develop into a very interesting contest.
