Andy Murray will face Aussie wonderkid Bernard Tomic in the semi-finals of the Brisbane InternationalYou can watch and bet on Murray v Tomic live for free at bet365 > live tennisAndy Murray romped into the semi-finals of the Brisbane International on Friday, claiming the scalp of Marcos Baghdatis in a one-sided 6-2, 6-2 victory. Murray’s start to the competition had been a little jittery, but he finally showed why he’s the top seed by thrashing the Cypriot in a mere 66 minutes. He’ll now face rising star Bernard Tomic in the final four.
"From the French Open I played very well last year and I just need to keep that consistency for the whole year, that's the plan really," Murray told reporters after the match. “I played badly in Indian Wells and Miami after the Australian Open in the last couple of the years and that's something I really want to try and avoid.
Murray’s sights are set on the No. 1 ranking spot, but for now he’ll just be thinking about how to deal with Tomic. “He's very unorthodox, very different to a lot of the guys on the tour nowadays," said Murray when discussing his next opponent. "He's quite unpredictable. He can play a couple of games where he doesn't do much then he can play three or four great games so you have to be on the ball against him mentally."
Tomic can expect the Brisbane crowd to really get behind him on Saturday. Still, he’ll need to produce a gargantuan effort to derail Murray’s Brisbane International title campaign.
