The Brasil Open will be back in Sao Paulo in 2014 from the 24th of February - 2nd of March.

Sao Paulo is the second event of the four week South American clay-court swing and there was even more interest in 2013 due to the presence of seven-time French Open champion Nadal. The Spaniard won the Brasil Open as a teenager back in 2005 and was able to mark his return by recapturing the title. Nadal's performance came shortly after a return from a knee injury.

Other players in attendance included Nicolas Almagro, Juan Monaco and David Nalbandian. Nalbandian in particular had a big week, reaching the final before falling to Nadal in straight sets. The Argentine had been competing in his first ATP tournament since August 2012.

The 2014 field will be released closer to the start of the tournament. A strong field usually turns up each year, and there's a chance that Rafa will have intentions of defending his title.
