The ATP Heineken Open 2013 semi-finals will be played on Friday with David Ferrer to court today.
After a men’s doubles semi-final, it will be second seeded Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany, who takes on fourth seeded American Sam Querrey in the first singles semi-final.
Both players were straight-set winners in their respective quarter-finals which interestingly had similar scorelines. Kohlschreiber won 7-6, 6-4 against Xavier Malisse while Querrey defeated Jesse Levine 6-4, 7-6 to make it to the last four stage.
Querrey leads the head-to-head with Kohlschreiber 2-1.
In the second singles semi-final of the day, it will be the top seeded Ferrer in action. Ferrer plays French wild-card Gael Monfils, who stunned the third seeded Tommy Haas in three sets. Ferrer, who needed three sets in his second round, went on to beat Lukas Lacko 6-2, 6-1.
Monfils has played Ferrer thrice before this and won on each of the occasions.
